The Alphabet of the Universe
Travel into Particle Physics
Particle physics provides the key to understand our Universe, how it works and its final destiny, by studying its behavior when it was extremely young.
“The Alphabet of the Universe” is a travel to the frontiers of research, to discover what we do know about the Universe, which are the most advanced theories to describe it, which are the open questions puzzling the scientists and which are the instruments they use at CERN and around the world to find the answers.
Through movies, interviews, animations, and games, “The Alphabet of the Universe” provides a unique chance to get in touch with CERN, the top particle physics laboratory in the world, to feel the emotions of the discovery of the Higgs boson, to live the trilling experience of trying to push the boundaries of human knowledge and to share with the best scientists the need of understanding more about how Nature works.
This touch-book originates from the exhibition “The Alphabet of the universe”, that has been created by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and CERN and has been displayed in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt, from January 2015 to January 2016. It has been realized with the support of CERN and Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
